Support Groups by Parent Support Link

Parent Support Link offers various support groups throughout Hampshire for the family and friends of people who use drugs and alcohol (parents, partners, husbands, wives, friends, brothers, sisters, grandparents).

In Southampton, we provide an evening support group the first Tuesday of the month from  7.00 – 8.30 pm offering a safe place to talk through how you are feeling and to share concerns and experiences with others who are coping with drug and alcohol use in the family.  This is a facilitated group meeting.

The life leap club, is a group for those who have progressed through the service and are now able to support others in a peer led group.

PSL provides the family support services for Inclusion Hampshire part of this support is to provide support groups in every Inclusion Hub in Hampshire ( please see the list under 1-2-1 support).

Wellbeing Workshops

Throughout the year we run a rolling programme of Health and Wellbeing workshops. The sessions are designed to help our family members to better
understand and recognise their own needs, the workshops are interactive, informative, fun and introduce new ideas and skills.

The subjects include Mindfulness, Aromatherapy, coping with anxiety as well as many more. They take place on a Wednesday morning and last approx. one and a half hours (see the calendar of events for more information)

Stepping Stones Workshops

PSL recognise that our carers may feel stuck or even trapped due to their family or friends substance misuse. As a way of helping people to make changes PSL have created workshops that challenge negative thought patterns.

The Stepping stone sessions are run in a course of 6 sessions which include Reducing and managing stress, Negative thought barriers, Behaviour cycles and much more.(see the calendar of events for more information)
